Environmental protection of the ski resort Zugspitze
There are no snow cannons on the Zugspitze. Ski operations only begin when there is sufficient natural snow. The ski area operators are implementing numerous savings measures and expanding photovoltaic systems.
Some parking lots have charging stations for electric vehicles. Since the cogwheel train to the Zugspitze departs from the main station in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, an environmentally friendly arrival by train is a great option. Combination tickets are also available. During the descent of the cogwheel train, energy is even recovered.
