Route planner Zugspitze

Access Zugspitze & on-site parking

The Zugspitze is located between Garmisch and Grainau in Upper Bavaria and Ehrwald in Tyrol. When coming from Munich, Garmisch is accessed via the Autobahn A95 (end of the Autobahn in Farchant) and then federal highway B2. You can access the Zugspitze directly from the main train station in Garmisch or from one of the other stops on the cog railway. You can also continue driving from Garmisch on to Grainau to the Eibsee, where you can take the cable car lift up to the peak. The cable car lift in Ehrwald (Tyrol) is particularly attractive for people coming from the west via the A7 to Füssen and Reutte/Fernpass or from Austria.
