Advanced skiing/powder snow skiing Sportgastein

Sportgastein is a paradise for experts and freeride enthusiasts. The black valley runs are challenging. With gradients of up to 70%, the S5 Schöneck is extremely steep. Beyond groomed slopes, there is a chance to enjoy powder snow on three demanding ski routes. The ski routes are secured against avalanches. The legendary Sportgastein is a real dream destination for freeriders. The high-alpine terrain extends up to almost 2,700 metres and provides access to a huge unsecured freeride area. You can tackle over 1,000 vertical metres on the way down to the valley in Sportgastein. In Sportgastein, there is a ‘Pieps Station’ (avalanche search area) and a Freeride Info Base.
