Hochoetz's WIDIVERSUM offers excellent and comprehensive facilities for families. The WIDIs children’s area and practice lifts provide ideal conditions for learning to ski. Four practice lifts in Hochoetz, one practice lift in Ochsengarten and child-friendly slopes promise lots of fun for all the family. A kindergarten at Hochoetz mountain station offers care for children aged 2 years or over.

WIDIs Slope Tips, the children’s obstacle course “Auf den Spuren der Wildtiere” (On the Traces of Wild Animals), WIDIs Funpark, the children’s theatre, WIDIs MOVIESHUTTLE, WIDIs Rally and WIDIs Play and Slide Park are additional first-class facilities. There are also Happy Family weeks with special discounts for families as well as a special card for families with young children.

WIDIs children's area & practice lifts

Learning to ski is easy here! The large WIDIs children's area is located right next to the Hochoetz mountain station. Gondola lifts from Oetz or Ochsengarten provide quick and easy access. Hochoetz provides ideal conditions for children learning to ski. Fun is the main focus in the enclosed children's areas with magic carpets. As soon as kids have learned basic techniques, they can progress to practice lifts and child-friendly slopes around the mountain station. WIDI the mascot is always around. The WIDI children's area is run by 3 ski schools: Skischule Mali, Skischule AGE, Skischule Oetz-Hochoetz

WIDIs Slope Tips

In the WIDIs Slope Tips obstacle course, children learn about the rules of the slopes in a fun way.

Children's obstacle course “Auf den Spuren der Wildtiere” (On the Traces of Wild Animals)

Near slope No. 9, a children’s obstacle course leads through the forest. Native animals are hiding here and children can try to find them. The Ochsengarten lift takes kids back up to the mountain station afterwards.

WIDIs Funpark

WIDIs Funpark is located at an altitude of almost 2,100 metres, right next to the Balbach chairlift. With wave runs, mini kickers, easy boxes, a snail, steep turns and a speed course, it is perfect for freestyle novices, children and families.

Hochoetz kindergarten

The Hochoetz kindergarten cares for children aged 2 years or over daily from 8.45 am until 4 pm. While parents enjoy the slopes, kids are very well-cared for here by a professionally trained childcare team.

This fast-paced 5D adventure is the only one of its kind in Austrian ski resorts. In a little cinema hall, the story of the WIDIVERSUM is recounted in a 5D multimedia simulation. WIDIs MOVIESHUTTLE is located on the basement floor of the Panoramarestaurant at the mountain station of the Acherkogelbahn lift.

Each week, a children’s theatre in the kindergarten at the Panoramarestaurant Hochoetz offers entertainment for young skiers.

The WIDIVERSUM Hochoetz has some exciting play stations for children in winter. The mascot WIDI's play stations and slides are located at the mountain station of the gondola lift at the Panoramarestaurant.
