Mechi Chal (1,873 m) is the local mountain of the winter sports resort Tschepelare (Chepelare). The ski area of the same name is served by a fast 4-seater chairlift with a mid-station on the mountain side. Forest trail descents are available for skiing. The main intermediate run is equipped with snowmaking. Mechi Chal is the smaller neighboring ski area of Pamporovo. Both ski areas in the Rhodope Mountains are connected by a ski bus shuttle.
