Mechi Chal is located in the south of Bulgaria in the Rhodope Mountains. The ski resort is around 2 kilometres south of the winter sports resort of Tschepelare (Chepelare) and around 70 kilometres south of Plowdiw, Bulgaria’s second-biggest city. The nearest motorway, the A1 Sofia-Burgas, is to the north of Plowdiw. The neighbouring ski resort of Pamporovo is around 10 kilometres away and is linked by a shuttle ski bus. The drive from Sofia is around 3 hours. Other distances: Thessaloniki 5 hours, Istanbul 6 hours, Bucharest 6.5 hours and Belgrade 7 hours. There is a payable car park right next to the base station.
