No valley run to AnnenheimDescription Gerlitzen
The Gerlitzen Alpe ski resort is similar in character to South Tyrol’s Kronplatz. At the top of the Gerlitzen (1,911 m), the lifts from Kanzelhöhe, Klösterle, and Birkenhof converge from all directions. The entire ski area lies at your feet, so to speak, and from up here you can access all the runs. The detachable eight-seater chairlift Neugarten 8er-Carving-Jet serves the easy and exceptionally wide Neugarten run. There is also a ski route here.
A beautiful forest trail run leads along the Klösterle lifts down to Klösterle at 1,000 m. In Klösterle itself, there is a practice area with magic carpets and rope tows. The detachable four-seater chairlifts Klösterlebahn I and II quickly take you back up to the Gerlitzen.
Intermediate runs lead down to Kanzelhöhe at 1,500 m. From the slopes, you have a magnificent view of the Karawanken mountains and can also branch off to the runs served by the double chairlifts Moser and Pöllinger. This area is ideal for beginners; both lifts serve intermediate and easy slopes above Kanzelhöhe. The four-person gondola from Annenheim ends at Kanzelhöhe, conveniently bringing day guests up to the Gerlitzen – from there, a 10-person gondola takes you to the summit. The free parking lots with a parking garage in Annenheim are just 3 km from the Villach motorway exit.
Other runs lead from Gerlitzen Alpe towards Birkenhof/Bodensdorf. The intermediate Wörthersee run leads to Bergeralm and the Mountain Resort Feuerberg. Continuing down, the Birkenhof run takes you to the Birkenhof drag lift, and if there is snow all the way to the valley, a challenging ski route runs 9 km down to Bodensdorf. The Wörthersee 6er Family-Jet chairlift then takes you from the Feuerberg Mountain Resort back up to the Gerlitzen.
Next to the Feuerberg Mountain Resort, you’ll find the Lodron platter lift and a ski school area with a rope tow and magic carpet. Throughout the ski day, you can enjoy stunning views of the Karawanken, the Nockberge, and across Lake Wörthersee to Klagenfurt. There are a number of charming and cozy huts scattered throughout the ski area for refreshments.
If you wish, you can also drive up to the Gerlitzen via a toll road. However, we recommend using the gondola from Annenheim or the chairlifts from Klösterle.
