The evaluation is done as follows
Advanced skiing, freeriding (powder snow skiing) Stubai Glacier (Stubaier Gletscher)
The Stubai Glacier offers a comprehensive range of options for advanced skiers and freeriders. Several black slopes, such as the Daunhill with a 60% gradient, are particularly challenging. Numerous ski routes test the skills of experts, including the long and attractive Wilde Grub’n ski route leading to the valley station.
Snow reliability and a wide variety of freeride options make the ski area especially appealing for freeriders. Freeriding is actively promoted with the "Powder Department." Numerous freeride runs in open terrain are documented in a dedicated off-piste map and as GPS tracks. Freeride checkpoints are located at Eisgrat and Gamsgarten. A training area for avalanche rescue is available at Gamsgarten.
Attention: The freeride runs are in unsecured terrain and should only be accessed with appropriate equipment and ski guides!
