No chairlifts with covers, no cross-country trails in the ski areaDescription Spieljoch – Fügen
As the first ski resort in the Zillertal, just 9 km from the motorway, the family-friendly Spieljoch ski area is located right at the entrance to the valley in Fügen. This is the perfect place to spend a relaxing day on the slopes with family or friends. You’ll often meet up again on the plateau at the top station at 1,865 m, and in the mornings during winter, you can enjoy the sunny Onkeljoch run, from which the Onkeljoch triple chairlift conveniently brings you back up.
Especially recommended on sunny days is the run at the Panoramabahn Geols, which, thanks to its location, offers pleasant sunny moments even in January. For a change, you can also try the parallel ski route. From the valley station of the Panoramabahn Geols, a ski bus takes you to Hochfügen in just 8 minutes.
The valley run down to Fügen has been equipped with snowmaking facilities all the way to the valley station since the 2004/2005 season, allowing you to enjoy the longest valley run in the Zillertal right down to the bottom.
The modern Spieljoch 10-person gondola quickly takes you back up via a mid-station. From there, the Möslift platter lift and the Onkeljoch drag lift lead further up towards the summit, mostly serving easy to intermediate slopes on treeless hillsides. Another wide and well-graded run leads down to the detachable Arzjoch six-seater chairlift, which also ends at the top station of the Spieljochbahn.
The six-seater chairlift and the wide runs significantly enhance the ski area, as the modern lifts mean there are hardly any waiting times.
The Mountain Loft is the culinary center of the ski area, featuring a gourmet restaurant and a self-service restaurant. Additional places to stop for refreshments include the mid-station of the gondola, the rustic "Schihütte" at the valley station of the triple chairlift, as well as other venues along the valley run, at the Panoramabahn Geols, and in the valley. At the end of the ski day, you can head straight to the umbrella bar at the valley station for après-ski.
