The Schwärzenlifte are among the first ski areas in Germany to start the ski season each year. Thanks to efficient snowmaking, the slopes can be opened within a very short time when temperatures are suitable. However, the föhn wind occasionally affects the slopes during the season. The season ends in late March or early April.
