Connection in Saalbach from Bernkogel to Kohlmaisbahn, transitions from the Schattberg/Zwölferkogel side to the Hochalm/Kohlmais side only possible by footpathDescription Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn (Skicircus)
You can access the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn from many different locations—whether from Leogang, Vorderglemm, Saalbach, Hinterglemm, or Fieberbrunn. From Saalbach, you can take the Schattberg X-Press, an eight-person gondola, directly up to the Schattberg, the Bernkogel gondola up towards Hinterglemm and Fieberbrunn, or the Kohlmaisbahn up to the 1,794-meter-high Kohlmaiskopf. From the Kohlmaiskopf, an easy run leads over to the Magic 6er. This detachable six-seater chairlift with weather protection hoods and heated seats takes you up to the 1,879-meter-high Bründlkopf.
From here, you can take an intermediate run down to the mid-station of the Schönleitenbahn, to the base station of the Schönleiten 6er, or all the way down to Vorderglemm. With the modern 10-person Schönleiten I + II gondola, you can reach the Wildenkarkogel (1,910 m), from where you can glide over easy runs to the Polten eight-seater chairlift. The Polten eight-seater takes you up, and you can switch to the Leogang side of the ski area.
The Asitzbahn and Steinbergbahn in Leogang are also ideal entry points to the Skicircus. The slopes around the Asitz in Leogang benefit from their location and guarantee uninterrupted skiing and snowboarding fun well into late spring. The wide runs at the lifts are mostly above the tree line and are generally of intermediate difficulty. In addition to the slopes, you’ll find wonderful, avalanche-safe powder runs here. Thanks to the clever layout of lifts and slopes in the Skicircus, skiers can start almost anywhere and explore the slopes clockwise or counterclockwise. It’s almost impossible to get lost, as both directions are excellently signposted and the runs are pleasantly wide.
With the Asitz eight-person gondola or the Steinberg ten-person gondola, you float a thousand meters higher in just 12 minutes—directly into the winter arena around the Asitz. You can carve or cruise on the many slopes in the Skicircus or simply enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. On the sun terraces of the ski huts at the Asitz, you’ll find the right entertainment as well as perfect spots to relax.
Snowboarders can also indulge their passion in the Fun Park. The Nitro Snowpark Leogang is located between the eight-seater chairlift and the Asitzmuldenbahn and features elements of varying difficulty levels, suitable for both beginners and experts. This park is the ideal training ground for all snowboarders.
If you haven’t had enough skiing during the day, you can enjoy night skiing three times a week at the Schanteilift under floodlights. On Sunday evenings, all night owls meet at Leo’s Skishow at the Schanteilift. Wednesday evenings are reserved for the hut jumping event, where ski instructors perform spectacular jumps onto the roof of the Kralleralm. The Asitz cable car conveniently takes you up to the mountain station on two evenings a week. Tobogganing fun is guaranteed on the illuminated toboggan run from the mid-station (Stöcklalm) down to the base station (Riederalm). Après-ski fun with culinary delights and musical entertainment at Asitzbräu, Alten Schmiede, Stöcklalm, Forsthofalm, Riederalm, and Outback will make your evening an unforgettable experience.
To return to Saalbach, take the eight-seater chairlift up to the Kleiner Asitz and then the Sportbahn 2000 six-seater chairlift up to the Großer Asitz. Now you can glide over easy slopes and ski trails back to the mid-station of the Schönleitenbahn or to the base station of the detachable Schönleiten 6er chairlift with weather protection hoods, and from the top stations of these lifts, ski all the way back to Saalbach.
To continue to Hinterglemm or Fieberbrunn, take the Bernkogel 1 eight-person gondola and then the Bernkogel 6er up to the Bernkogel. After a short descent, the Reiterkogel Ost six-seater chairlift takes you up to the Reiterkogel.
From the Reiterkogel, new slopes lead into the ski area of Fieberbrunn, which has been connected since the winter of 2015/16. With the new TirolS ten-person gondola and the Reckmoos Süd eight-person gondola, you can quickly reach the slopes of Fieberbrunn.
From the valley in Fieberbrunn, you can access the ski area via the Streuböden and Lärchfilzkogel group gondolas or the former Expo cable car from Hannover, Doischberg. From the Doischberg, you can easily ski down an easy run to the Lärchfilzenbahn. The main lift in the Fieberbrunn ski area is the detachable Lärchfilzen four-seater chairlift with weather protection hoods, which opens up beautiful and snow-sure runs. From the Lärchfilzenbahn, you can either take a long ski trail to Streuböden, use the short Maiskopf drag lift up to the Doischberg and ski parallel to the Expo Liner down an intermediate run to the valley, or ski directly down the 1c run back to the base stations. At the Streuböden mid-station, there are the Zillstatt and Gatterl platter lifts, which are especially suitable for beginners. An easy run leads from Streuböden further down into the valley. In the valley itself, there is the Obingleitn platter lift. There are cozy huts in the ski area, such as Ferchlstadl, Lärchfilzhochalm, or Wildalpgatterl.
From the top station of the Lärchfilzenbahn, you can take the Reckmoos Nord ten-person gondola to the Sonnenmulde, Reckmoos Süd, and Hochhörndl runs. Afterwards, the new TirolS ten-person gondola takes you back to the Reiterkogel and towards Saalbach-Hinterglemm.
From the Reiterkogel, you can ski all the way down to Hinterglemm and Saalbach. The wide slopes at the Hasenauer Köpfl eight-seater chairlift are also highly recommended. On the descent to Hinterglemm, be sure to stop by the rustic Pfefferalm. An eight-person gondola takes you from Hinterglemm back up the mountain. With the Sunliner Reitergipfel, you can also reach the Reiterkogel and then use the Wetterkreuzbahn to return to Saalbach via the Bärnalm.
On the other side of the village, there is the Zwölferkogel (1,984 m), which is served by several lifts. From the Hochalm, you can ski down to the valley and take the Zwölfer Nord 12-person gondola up to the 1,984-meter-high Zwölferkogel. Runs of all difficulty levels lead down to Saalbach, and the 12er KOGEL I+II ten-person gondola quickly takes you back up. There are more runs at the detachable Zehner six-seater chairlift with weather protection hoods. From Hinterglemm, the Westgipfel I+II eight-person gondola takes you up to the Westgipfel (2,096 m), the highest point in the ski area. An easy run leads to the Limberg four-seater chairlift, or you can explore the challenging runs at the Schattberg Sprinter eight-person gondola.
The Limberg four-seater chairlift, as well as the Schattberg X-Press, end at the 2,020-meter-high Schattberg. Intermediate and advanced runs lead to the mid-station of the Schattberg X-Press, and you can ski all the way down to Saalbach via another advanced run or a ski trail. Another option is to ski the 7 km long Jausern run down to Vorderglemm and take the Schönleitenbahn back up, making it easy to return to Leogang or to the runs at the Kohlmaiskopf.
After skiing, cozy après-ski venues such as Hexenhäusl and Goaßstall (Hinterglemm) or the Hinterhagalm (Saalbach) invite you to unwind. In Leogang and Fieberbrunn, you can end your ski day in a more relaxed atmosphere.
