The evaluation is done as follows
Snow-reliable rating Rusutsu
Lack of snow is unheard of in Rusutsu. The ski resort is extremely snow-sure. During the main season, it snows almost daily. The reason is the cold air masses from Siberia, which absorb moisture over the Sea of Japan and then release it as snow on the mountains in western Hokkaido. This means that deep powder skiing in the famous "Japow" Japan Powder in Rusutsu is possible almost the entire season. The ski resort is open for skiing and snowboarding from late November to mid-April. There is no need for artificial snowmaking here, as the resort has not had any problems with a lack of snow in the past 30 years.
- No artificial snow-making
- The valley run is always open when ski resort is open; without the valley run, skiing is not possible.
