The high-altitude areas around Mönichkirchen and Mariensee offer excellent opportunities for cross-country skiing. The Wechsel-Semmering Panorama Trail leads from the mountain station of the Panoramabahn Mariensee to the Marienseer and Feistritzer Schwaig. The trail runs below the Niederwechsel and Hochwechsel through a very scenic area. If you wish, you can continue further, for example on the circular trail of the Steyersberger Schwaig. This creates an excellent and extensive network of cross-country trails.
