Big Sky Resort is a paradise for experts and freeriders. Lone Mountain even offers triple-diamond runs through extremely steep and narrow couloirs. Anyone who wants to tackle The Big Couloir, Otter Slide, The Gullies or Castro's will need to be extremely confident on their skis. Backcountry skiing enthusiasts can find good options in Dakota Bowl, Hanging Valley, Wyoming Bowl or Kircher's Cliffs. Liberty Bowl is the easiest of the difficult slopes from Lone Mountain in the South Face. Countless difficult runs lead steeply down to the valley through gullies and canyons. Further down, there are gladed runs and mogul slopes. The difficult runs from the Headwaters and Challenger mountain stations also meet every possible wish. There are almost endless opportunities to explore powder slopes.
