The ski resort is closed. The lifts are out of order and will not be repaired for the time being. It is uncertain when the winter sports area will resume operations. The Hoch- and Idarwald is an elongated ridge on the northern edge of the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park. It forms the watershed between the Moselle and Nahe rivers. The facility at Idarkopf (746m) near Stipshausen is located on the southeast slope and is approximately 1,200 m long.
