The Dammkar descent is considered Germany’s longest ski route, overcoming an elevation difference of 1,300 meters.

The starting point is the top station of the Karwendelbahn in Mittenwald at 2,244 meters, where the nature information center stands at the edge in the form of a giant telescope. From here, you can see all the way to the Isar Valley. However, the Dammkar is considered a challenge in terms of skiing technique and fitness and is only suitable for experts. The ski area also requires experience with all types of snow, from loose powder to frozen crust and soft spring slush bumps, as well as appropriate safety equipment.
