In addition to the Brighton ski area, there is an extensive network of cross-country trails. The Solitude Nordic & Snowshoe Center offers not only cross-country skiing trails but also snowshoeing. Access is via the Solitude Nordic Center, which is located right next to the ski area.
The trails are easy and intermediate, available in both classic and skating cross-country styles. There are flat sections by the lake as well as hilly, wooded routes. Cross-country skiing lessons are offered for groups and individuals. The untouched landscape in Big Cottonwood Canyon is stunning.
