Alternatively, the metropolitan area around Salt Lake City is a good option for overnight stays. It takes only about 45 minutes to reach the ski area from Salt Lake City. From Cottonwood Heights in Salt Lake County, it is only about 30 minutes. The drive to the ski area follows a mountain road through Big Cottonwood Canyon.
