Environmental friendliness/environmental protection Belchen

Test result4 out of 5 stars

Evaluated by Skiresort.info, the world's largest test portal for ski resorts.
The evaluation is done as follows

Environmental friendliness of the ski resort Belchen

The upper section of the road to the Belchenhaus was closed in 2001 in order to protect the environment. Guests can only access the Belchenhaus now with the gondola lift, which is powered by green energy from EWS. Regional products are served in the restaurants. Belchen is also located within a nature reserve.

Public transportation/on-site mobility

  • No direct train connection
It is relatively difficult to get to the Belchen lift by public transportation. The nearest train station is in Muenstertal. From there, there are direct connections to Belchen. However, at most times, you must transfer once to a different train before getting to the base station of the Belchen lift. From Zell im Wiesental, Kirchzarten and Freiburg, the three other train stations in the area, the trip is a bit more strenuous with multiple transfers.
  • Small ski bus offering
  • Scheduled buses
  • You can access the base station directly with the Belchen bus from the Muenstertal (with train connection from Freiburg) and from Schoenau. During the week, there are limited connections. The bus circulates more often during the weekends.
