The first ski resort you reached when coming up from the Rhine Valley near Dornbirn into the Bregenzerwald was Alberschwende. At the edge of the village, under the Brüggelekopf, drag lifts were available for skiing. The operation of the nostalgic single chairlift was discontinued in January 2018 after the concession expired. Furthermore, after the 2017/18 season, the lifts at Dresslerberg and Tannerberg were also shut down. After the 2022/23 season, the remaining facilities were also closed.
