Access, Parking Winterberg (Skiliftkarussell)

While arriving from the west (from Olpe) is usually straightforward, guests traveling from the Ruhr area and East Westphalia often face traffic jams on weekends. The first bottleneck is at the end of the highway in Bestwig, where traffic lights create a real choke point, and then again just before Winterberg itself. To avoid this, simply take the Meschede exit and drive via Remblinghausen, Bödefeld, Siedlinghausen, and Altastenberg to the Nordhang. There, you'll find a small and a somewhat larger parking lot just behind the Nordhanglift. In general, the parking lots are in partly very poor condition. This is especially true for the large parking lot at Bremberg, which, since the 2012/13 season, is at least better connected to the ski slopes: the new Schneewittchen run passes directly by the upper end of the parking lot. Overall, parking spaces in the Skiliftkarussell are rather limited. This is particularly true for the Büre area, from where three chairlifts start and which can usually be reached without traffic jams from Bestwig via Silbach.
