The Vall de Núria ski area can only be reached by the 12.5 km long cog railway from Ribes de Freser. The journey takes 40 minutes and covers an altitude difference of about 1000 meters. Cars and other vehicles are prohibited in Vall de Núria. The base area of the ski resort is at around 2000 meters.
