This snow-rich region, originally settled by German-speaking Walser people, is known for heliskiing between Ofenhorn (3,250 m), Blinnenhorn (3,373 m), and Basodino (3,270 m). In addition to alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and tobogganing are also available in the villages surrounding the winter sports area.
