Advanced skiing, freeriding (powder snow skiing) Sportgastein

Sportgastein is a paradise for experts and freeriders. The black valley runs are truly challenging. The S5 Schöneck is extremely steep, with gradients of up to 70%. Off the groomed slopes, you can enjoy deep powder on three demanding ski routes. The ski routes are secured against avalanches. The legendary Sportgastein is a true dream for freeriders. The high-alpine terrain reaches up to almost 2,700 meters and offers a vast, unsecured freeride area. Over 1,000 vertical meters can be covered down to the valley floor of Sportgastein. In Sportgastein, a Pieps station (avalanche search field) and a Freeride Info Base are available.
