The Sportgastein ski area is located at the end of the Gastein Valley and offers high-alpine skiing on predominantly sporty slopes. The snow-sure winter sports area on the Kreuzkogel (2,686 m) is especially popular with advanced skiers and freeriders and usually remains open well into April. With a Freeride Info Base and an avalanche transceiver training area, conscious and safe exploration of the open ski terrain is encouraged.
