Beginners Schmittenhöhe – Zell am See
Beginners feel very comfortable in the area of Areitbahn II and III. Here, the slopes are perfectly suited for beginners, and they can also enjoy skiing on the Glockner and Breiteck chairlifts. Access is possible from Zell am See or Schüttdorf. At the areitXpress mountain station, there is a beginner area with a covered conveyor belt. Higher up in the ski area, the runs at Kapellenbahn, Kettingbahn, and Hahnkopf are also perfect for beginners. You can also reach Zell am See and Schmittental via easy slopes. The valley run to Schüttdorf, however, is of intermediate difficulty and is accessed by gondola. In Schüttdorf, Schmittental, and Viehhofen, there are additional beginner lifts in the valley.
