The new Gletscherexpress primarily offers more comfort for passengers, while the capacity and size of the railway remain unchanged. Thanks to a decoupled chassis and rubber-cushioned wheels, the ascent is smoother and quieter. Modern energy recovery and energy-efficient technology ensure that the Gletscherexpress can be operated entirely with solar energy produced at the mountain station, at least during summer operations.
