The snow depths required for winter sports operations are no longer reached in the region, or only on very few days. The highly changeable weather conditions, sometimes changing daily, no longer provide a basis for operating a drag lift. The climatic conditions are also insufficient for artificial snowmaking, so that artificial snowmaking on the slope is neither economically nor ecologically feasible. Based on these facts, the Nonnweiler municipal council decided in its meeting on November 14, 2013, to discontinue the operation of the drag lift at Peterberg in Braunshausen.
