Description Katschberg

From Katschberghöhe, you can take the detachable triple chairlift Aineck directly up to the 2,220 m high Aineck. One difficult and one intermediate run lead back to Katschberghöhe, but you can also take intermediate runs all the way down to St. Margarethen at 1,110 m. In the valley, there is a platter lift for beginners and the Silverjet 1, where you will find slopes of all difficulty levels. Thanks to excellent snowmaking, the valley run is usually open until the end of the season. To get back up to Aineck, after Silverjet 1 you take two more modern gondolas to reach the summit again.

To switch to the lifts at Tschaneck, you cross the ski bridge at Katschberghöhe, which takes you directly to the facilities. The Königswiesen four-seater chairlift serves an easy beginner slope. With the detachable six-seater chairlift with weather protection hoods Tschaneck, you reach Tschaneck at 2,030 m. From here, you can either carve down the challenging Tschaneckpiste back to the valley or take the Königswiesenabfahrt towards Gamskogel. The detachable six-seater chairlift with weather protection hoods Gamskogel serves a variety of intermediate slopes. The two drag lifts Freiberg and Sonnleiten also serve intermediate slopes parallel to the Gamskogelbahn. Another four-seater chairlift, the Sonnenalmbahn, runs between Gamskogel and Tschaneck and serves the Sonnalmpiste and Lärchenabfahrt runs.

To return to the Aineck side, you cross the ski bridge—three conveyor belts make it easier to cross the Katschberg road. Throughout the area, charming and cozy huts invite you to take a break. After skiing or snowboarding, you can, for example, head to the Wilderer Alm for après-ski.
