Advanced skiing, freeriding (powder snow skiing) Big Sky Resort
The Big Sky ski area is a paradise for experts and freeriders. Lone Mountain even offers triple-diamond runs through extremely steep and narrow rock chutes. Anyone who wants to conquer The Big Couloir, Otter Slide, The Gullies, or Castro's needs to be extremely confident on their skis. If you love the backcountry, you'll feel right at home in Dakota Bowl, Hanging Valley, Wyoming Bowl, or Kircher's Cliffs. Liberty Bowl is the easiest of the challenging runs from Lone Mountain on the South Face. Countless difficult descents lead steeply through chutes and gorges down to the valley. Lower down, you'll find gladed runs and mogul slopes. From the Headwaters and Challenger summit stations, the challenging runs leave nothing to be desired. The range of powder slopes is almost unlimited.
