The ski area was closed in 2010 due to financial problems. In 2015, a rope tow was installed and the ski area was reopened under the name Ascutney Outdoors Center. In 2018, a new T-bar lift was added. Skiing and snowboarding at Ascutney Mountain are free of charge. Operations are funded by donations.
