Description Åre

From Åre, the cable car Kabinbanan takes you up to Åreskutan at 1,274 meters. The detachable six-seater chairlift VM6:an and the double chairlift Worldcupliften also start here, providing access to the World Cup slopes. The nostalgic funicular Bergbanan begins right in the center of Åre and brings winter sports enthusiasts to the slopes. The runs at the top of Åreskutan are on wide slopes and offer plenty of space for off-piste skiing.

You can also reach the Olympiagondolen with the combination lift VM8:an from the outskirts of Åre. The runs down to Åre are mostly intermediate to difficult and lead through forest clearings, but all of them can also be bypassed via an easy connecting trail.

To get further towards Åre Björnen, you need to take the six-seater chairlift Fjällgårdsexpressen up to Sadeln. From up here, you can already see the slopes on the 727-meter-high Försberget, the outermost point of the Åre ski area. Easy to very easy runs lead from Sadeln down to the Hermelinenliften, which provides further connection to Åre Björnen. The drag lifts and platter lifts serve very easy, easy, and intermediate slopes around Åre Björnen. This is the ideal place for children and beginners.

To return to Åre, you can take the Vargliften or Björnliften, the Högasliften, and the six-seater chairlift with weather protection hoods and heated seats, Sadelexpressen. From Sadeln, beautiful, wide forest runs lead down to Åre.

After skiing, numerous après-ski bars invite you in, and in the evening you can enjoy discos with live music late into the night. Young and old alike can find all kinds of entertainment in Åre almost around the clock. From skiing—easy to extreme—to discos with live music, almost everything is on offer.
