There are some good places to stop for a break at the base station in Treble Cone. You can choose from several options here: Base Café (breakfast and snacks), Grab and Go (chips, sandwiches, salads, bagels, pastries, cakes) and The Southern BBQ (very good and freshly cooked food). Up on the mountain, there is also the Altitude Bar which serves snacks and drinks accompanied by possibly the best view in New Zealand.
