Quite a few drag pathsDescription Tauplitz – Bad Mitterndorf
Located forty kilometers southeast of Bad Ischl, between the Totes Gebirge and the Dachstein range, lies the ski resort Die Tauplitz, part of the Styrian Salzkammergut. Access to the ski area is possible either from Tauplitz/Ort with the four-seater chairlifts with weather shields, or by bus or car via the Tauplitzalmstraße from Bad Mitterndorf.
From the new parking lot at the Mittersteinbahn, the eight-seater gondola starts, taking you up to the 1,965-meter-high Lawinenstein. From the top and from the Gipfellift I and II, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Dachstein and the surrounding mountains in good weather. The modern six-seater chairlift Lawinenstein from the Hollhausmulde also ends at Lawinenstein.
From Tauplitz, two four-seater chairlifts with weather shields quickly and, above all, comfortably take you into the ski area. A pleasant, intermediate valley run leads back down to Tauplitz. On the Tauplitzalm, numerous variations offer many possibilities for a day of skiing. Skiers and snowboarders will get their money’s worth on the Schneiderkogel if they choose the black run that leads down below the four-seater chairlift.
Excellent slope conditions are guaranteed, as Die Tauplitz is considered one of the most snow-sure areas and is also known for its excellent slope grooming. An ideal ski area for both experts and beginners.
