Environmental protection of the ski resort Söllereck – Oberstdorf

Sustainability is a top priority for Oberstdorf Kleinwalsertal Bergbahnen, as demonstrated by the MyMountainNature initiative. The entire Söllereck ski area is powered exclusively by 100% green electricity from hydropower. Slope management is very environmentally friendly. Satellite-supported snow depth measurement by the snow groomers ensures not only perfectly prepared slopes but also targeted snow distribution. This reduces the amount of snow that needs to be produced. Required energy is saved, and the snow melts faster. The grass can recover earlier, and the turf is protected during ski operations.

Car-free travel is strongly promoted in Oberstdorf under the motto “Leave traffic jams behind and enjoy your holiday from the very beginning. Travel by train – fast, environmentally friendly, and especially affordable.” Free ski buses on site make it easy to reach the ski area.
