Ski lifts at the ski resort Sölden
Sölden offers state-of-the-art facilities for a fast and comfortable ascent to the mountain. The 10-seater Giggijoch gondola is the most powerful cable car in the world, with a transport capacity of 4,500 people per hour. The connection from the winter ski area to the glacier ski areas is provided by the connecting lifts (the most modern 8-seater chairlifts) "Golden Gate to the Glacier." The BIG 3 of Sölden – all of them three-thousand-meter peaks – are all accessible with modern cable car systems. For example, the Gaislachkoglbahn, with its two modern lifts, provides access to Sölden’s outstanding ski mountain, the Gaislachkogl (one of the BIG 3). The lifts alone set three records: the first section, an eight-seater gondola, has the world’s highest transport capacity for an eight-seater gondola lift at 3,600 people per hour. The second section, a 3-S lift with cabins for 30 people each, holds two records: it is the highest 3-S lift in the world (3,040 m) and a unique mountain system has been developed and introduced. In the event of an evacuation, guests no longer have to leave the cabins and are safely transported to the stations.
