Gastronomy/Eating at the ski resort Schlick 2000 – Fulpmes

The culinary offering is surprisingly varied for a ski resort of this size.
There is everything from hut classics to soups, hearty Tyrolean specialities, burgers and pizzas. The quality is good too. Most of the mountain restaurants are not too big, which adds to the proverbial Tyrolean conviviality in Schlick.

Mountain hut tip

Galtalm

On slope 13 at the Galtbergbahn lift at 1,680 metres

The Galtalm occupies a very sunny location in the ski resort of Schlick 2000. From the sun terrace, you can enjoy a beautiful view down to the Stubai Valley. The rustic lounges with a cosy stove are perfect places to relax. The Galtalm serves Tyrolean specialities. Dishes are prepared using high-quality ingredients with short supply chains. Bread is supplied fresh daily by the local baker, meat comes from regional farms and game produce is from the restaurant’s own hunting.

Froneben Alm

Slightly below the middle station on the valley run and the toboggan run at 1,306 metres

Lukas Rasinger's Froneben Alm is a true family business. All food is freshly prepared and most ingredients come from their own farm. Although Tyrolean restaurant culture is visible here, the menu is pretty varied: from very good burger variations to hearty soups, such as home-made beef bouillon with cheese dumplings and Tyrolean bacon dumplings. The interior of the Froneben Alm is very cosy and outside there is a wonderful sun terrace with panoramic views. The restaurant is also open during night tobogganing.

Zirmachalm

On the way to the Zirmachbahn lift base station at 1,935 metres

There is no self-service section in the Zirmachalm, part of Andreas Stern’s “hut empire”, which adds enormously to the cosy atmosphere. The hut is very inviting thanks to the wonderful ceramic stove and the sun terrace with the best view of the slopes. The hearty Tyrolean cuisine adds the finishing touch and makes this a very popular place to stop.

Sennjochhütte

Beside the mountain station of the Sennjochbahn lift at 2,225 metres

As the highest hut in the Schlick 2000 ski resort, the Sennjochhütte enjoys its place in the sun. The sun terrace and ice bar are well frequented throughout the day. It serves a good selection of soups and hut classics from Bratwurst sausages to Germknödel jam dumplings.
