As the local mountain of the town of Waldkirch and known as the "Blocksberg" of the Black Forest, the Kandel has always been surrounded by myths. Today, there may be no witches causing mischief here, but plenty of boarders and freestylers, as the Kandelpark Snowpark is popular far and wide. The Kandelpark is set up at the Kaibenloch lift when there is enough snow and can therefore be used several times a week under floodlights. Since the small Kandellifte winter sports area offers a complete range of runs from easy to difficult, the whole family can meet here for skiing and snowboarding. And if you want to go sledding or cross-country skiing on the perfectly groomed trails, you can do that too, of course.
