Environmental friendliness/environmental protection Kaltenbach – Hochzillertal/Hochfügen (SKi-optimal)

Test result4 out of 5 stars

Evaluated by Skiresort.info, the world's largest test portal for ski resorts.
The evaluation is done as follows

Environmental friendliness of the ski resort Kaltenbach – Hochzillertal/Hochfügen (SKi-optimal)

Great emphasis is placed on environmental protection in the ski resort of Hochzillertal/Hochfügen. Energy-efficient snow cannons with large trajectory ranges and heat recovery save energy. Hydroelectric plants are integrated in the power supply system, reservoirs can be filled self-sufficiently and consumption is partly met by dedicated power plants. Photovoltaic systems, for example in the Wimbachexpress mountain station, produce additional power. The exemplary waste sorting and restriction of access to forest areas are commendable. The resort promotes the use of ski buses and public transport.
