From Montafon, the mountain road leads up to Gargellen. After passing through the village, you reach the parking lots and the Schafbergbahn. From the valley, the Schafberg eight-seater gondola takes you up to the Schafberg Hüsli at 2,130 m. On the Schafberg plateau, you will find many easy slopes, a six-seater chairlift, a four-seater chairlift, and a platter lift.
Here, you can glide from the mountain station of the Kristallbahn, a six-seater chairlift with weather protection hoods and heated seats, down the long and easy Täli run to the Gargellener Alpe and further down to the valley. From the Gargellner Alpe, you can float back up to the Schafberg Hüsli with the Gargellner Alpe-Schafberg double chairlift. From the Schafberg Hüsli, you can glide over to the Gargellner Köpfe four-seater chairlift, which mainly serves easy runs on treeless slopes.
The valley runs Schnapfenwald, Birkenegg, and Schwefeltobel down to Gargellen are highly recommended. Another platter lift operates at the Gasthaus Barga along the valley run. There is also another practice lift in Gargellen.
If you enjoy rustic places to stop for a break, the Kesslhütte is just right for you. The Oberwaldhütte and Pizzeria Barga also invite you to linger. Culinary delights await you at the Schafberg Hüsli. The Gargellen ski area is ideal for a family holiday, as everything is easy to keep track of and no one will get lost here. After winter sports, you can move on to après-ski at the D'r Schirm umbrella bar.
