Highlights:
Two modern chairlifts with weather protection hoods, excellent slope grooming, wide slopes, many rustic and cozy hutsNegative points:
Mountain road to the ski area, no village directly at the ski area but scattered accommodationsDescription Fanningberg
From the parking lots at the valley station, located at around 1,500 meters above sea level, you have to walk a short distance uphill to the ticket offices. From there, you can float up to Fanningberg at 2,020 meters with the detachable six-seater chairlift with weather protection hoods, Samson. Runs of all difficulty levels start from here—wide forest trail descents lead back down to the valley station. An easy run leads over to the Moserkopf drag lift, which provides access to both an easy and an intermediate run. In the past, you could also enter the ski area from Mauterndorf via the Langwiesen lift. However, this lift has been decommissioned, and work is underway on a new connection with Mauterndorf.
From the top station of Moserkopf, you can return to the valley station via an easy slope. A highlight in the ski area is definitely the Zirbenjet, a detachable six-seater chairlift with weather protection hoods and heated seats, easily accessible from the top station of the Samson lift. This lift takes you up to the highest point in the ski area at 2,091 meters and provides access to the challenging runs Rader-Steilhang, Weißpriacher-Steilhang, and Mausefalle, as well as easy descents. The slopes at Fanningberg are perfectly groomed and very wide. Beginners will find two parallel drag lifts, Lift I + V, next to the valley station, which provide access to wide and easy runs.
There are numerous cozy mountain huts in the ski area where you can enjoy regional cuisine. After a day of skiing, you can relax and enjoy après-ski at the umbrella bar at the valley station.
