The evaluation is done as follows
Environmental protection of the ski resort Belchen
For environmental protection reasons, the upper part of the road to the Belchenhaus was closed to cars in 2001. The Belchenhaus is only accessible to guests via the gondola lift, which is powered by green electricity from EWS. The gastronomy at Belchen uses regional products. In addition, the Belchen is located in a nature reserve.
Public transportation/on-site mobility
- No direct train connection
The Belchenbahn is relatively difficult to reach by public transport. The nearest train station is Münstertal. From there, there are direct connections to the Belchen. Most of the time, guests have to change trains once before reaching the valley station of the Belchenbahn. Traveling from Zell im Wiesental, Kirchzarten, and Freiburg—three other stations in the area—requires several transfers and is therefore a bit more complicated. - Small ski bus offering
- Scheduled buses
- The Belchenbus takes you directly to the valley station from Münstertal train station (with rail connections from Freiburg) and from Schönau. During the week, there are only a few connections. On weekends, the bus runs more frequently.
