1/13 Schlossalmbahn I
The new Schlossalmbahn is a milestone in the development of the ski area at Schlossalm. The two comfortable 10-seater gondola lifts, Schlossalmbahn I and Schlossalmbahn II, replace a total of three lifts and allow for an ascent without changing lifts. At the same time, the expansion of the slopes further increases the attractiveness of Schlossalm.
The 10-seater gondola lifts Schlossalm I and Schlossalm II are manufactured by Doppelmayr. They replace the Schlossalmbahn I, a 120-seater funicular, the 4-seater chairlift Kleine Scharte, and the 2-seater chairlift Haitzingalm. Thanks to the modern, high-performance monocable gondola lifts, the transport capacity from the valley is more than doubled.
The redesign also optimizes the route. The entry point is relocated to the parking lot on the other side of the busy main road. The mid-station of the 10-seater gondola lifts, which is both the mountain station of Schlossalmbahn I and the valley station of Schlossalmbahn II, remains close to the valley station of the aerial tramway Schlossalm in the Kitzstein area.
With the construction of the new Schlossalmbahn I, a new, modern, and architecturally appealing valley station was also built in Bad Hofgastein. It is located east of the main road, directly at the parking lot. The modern building houses not only the technical facilities and the gondola station, but also a spacious underground car park and various infrastructure such as ticket offices and sanitary facilities, ski rental and depots, gastronomy, the ski school office, and a sports shop.
