A tight ski bus network connects the villages in the Tuxertal to the Hintertux Glacer. Ski buses also run from Mayrhofen into the Zillertal. The glacier is covered with tarps in the summer.


Public transportation/on-site mobility

  • No direct train connection
    The Mayrhofen train station is 22 km away from the Hintertux Glacier. Buses travel regularly from here into the Tuxertal during the winter season.

  • Scheduled ski buses connect the villages of Hintertux, Juns, Madseit and Vorderlanersbach with the glacier lifts. In the main season, there is also the Green Line (a ski bus from Mayrhofen to Hintertux and back which is free for skiers with ski equipment and a valid ski pass).
