As of the 2011/2012 season, you can get up to the glacier even quicker with the new 10 person Gefrorene Wand gondola lift with seat heating. There are 3 modern funitels from the base to the top. The Gletscherbus 3 is the highest funitel in the world. Three chair lifts and a lot of t-bars are in operation on the glacier. In addition, a 6 person chair lift brings winter sports fans up to the Sommerbergalm and from there, a detachable 4 person chair lift with bubbles brings them up to Tuxer Joch.

The slope preparation is very good.
The 14 grooming machines begin preparing the slopes immediately after the ski day has ended. When there is new snow, they are in operation throughout the night in order to achieve optimal slope conditions.
Tip: By new snow, an optimal slope prepartion is not always possible, even with a large effort. In addition, the new snow can not combine with the snow lying underneath and moguls are created quickly. For safety reasons, usually no slope preparation is possible during operating times.

To access the resort, you must drive to the end of the valley which takes about one hour from the highway exit. There is a parking garage and a parking lot next to the lifts or you can use the free shuttle bus from the village of Hintertux.

They place a high value on cleanliness. The sanitary facilities are always in very good condition.
The ski bus runs every 10 minutes from the village of Hintertux to the glacier lifts. In the winter, there is a ski bus (free with a valid ski pass) which takes skiers and their equipment from Mayrhofen to Hintertux and back (Green line or Red line). The runs are closed when there is not enough snow.

The employees are friendly, but could be a bit more helpful to guests entering the lifts.
There is everything from rustic and cozy to stylish and modern. The Tuxer-Fernerhaus and Sommerbergalm/Hochleger self-service restaurants offer good food at fair prices. The Gletscherhuette, the Spannagelhaus and the Tuxer-Joch-Haus are cozy mountain restaurants that offer homestyle cooking.

Directly at the valley station of the Hintertuxer Gletscher lifts.
The Après-ski location in Hintertux at the valley station. You can celebrate here in typical Alpine ambiance. There are many live acts and the atmosphere is always perfect. The Hohenhaus Tenne has been rated as the Best Après Ski Hut 2011 from Skiresort.de - and for those who haven't had enough, the party continues in Tux 1 in the village of Hintertux until late in the night.

The Betterpark at the Olperer t-bar is a famous scene. The snowboarders also come here because of the many deep snow slopes. However, during the colder season, the Betterpark is closed and for this reason, the Rookiepark has been constructed at the Sommerbergalm.

The 4 person Tuxerjoch with bubbles provides comfortable access to the park.
