Riksgränsen, Sweden’s northernmost ski resort, is located on the "national border" with Norway along the transport route from Kiruna to Narvik. When the darkness of winter ends in February, Riksgränsen opens for the season. When the darkness of winter ends in February, Riksgränsen opens for the season. The snow that has fallen throughout autumn and winter then invites visitors to ski and snowboard. The small village and the ski lifts are all on Swedish soil, but some of the runs also pass through Norway. While Riksgränsen is not a particularly large ski area, the wide slopes in the treeless terrain of Riksgränsfjället have become a hotspot for freeriders as well as for those who simply enjoy skiing. A highlight is skiing and snowboarding under the midnight sun. Here, you can actually enjoy winter sports in a T-shirt even in early summer. Away from the lifts, Riksgränsen also offers plenty: snowmobile tours, ski touring, and cross-country skiing are very popular activities here, and heliskiing is also available.
