Access Buttermilk Mountain & on-site parking

You will need about one hour from Highway 70 to reach Buttermilk Mountain ski resort. There is sufficient free parking available. Many visitors park here and use the free shuttle buses to the other Aspen ski resorts. You can only park for free at Buttermilk Mountain.

Winter Closure

Highway 82 to Twin Lake over the Independence Pass is closed in the winter. Aspen is only accessible via Basalt and Glenwood Springs (Highway 70) in the winter.
