The Wispile is considered the local mountain of Gstaad, not only because it can be seen so beautifully from the Gstaad Promenade. As a ski area, Wispile is not particularly large, but its variety makes it very attractive. The lower section, with its easy slopes, offers families and beginners the opportunity to ski and snowboard close to town. In the upper section, the slopes are sporty and challenging, and a longer black run leads down into the valley within the ski area. The toboggan run from Wispile to Gsteig is also especially popular (you can take the bus back to Gstaad): this toboggan run includes some very demanding sections and should be approached with caution by children and inexperienced riders.
