Few black slopes, in some places hardly any signpostingDescription Werfenweng
The ski resort is located close to the Tauern motorway and is easy to reach. All the more surprising, then, that so few skiers still visit Werfenweng. With the 8-person gondola lifts Rosnerköpfl and Ikarus, however, it is even more worthwhile to visit Werfenweng. Since the 2013/14 season, the Rosnerköpfl has been taking guests directly from Werfenweng into the ski area. The Ikarus gondola starts from the large, free car park and takes you to the summit of the ski area, the Bischlinghöhe at 1,834 m, in just 6 minutes.
The panoramic run down to the valley is quite challenging in parts, but very enjoyable to ski, and can be considered one of the best slopes. If you ski down to the other side, which is the connection to the Ladenberg, you will find wonderful intermediate slopes. Here at the Ladenberg, there is a four-seater chairlift and one drag lift. When there is fresh snow, you will find fantastic ungroomed runs on the left side of the four-seater chairlift, where the freaks can really let off steam.
To get from the Ladenberg back to the Bischlinghöhe, and thus to the valley run, you have to ski from the top station of the Ladenberg four-seater chairlift over to the Strussing chairlift. Numerous huts throughout the ski area invite you to stop and relax.
In the valley, the Zaglau practice area is very well suited for beginners. Large children's areas delight families. Its manageable size makes it ideal for families.
All in all, it is a beautiful ski resort, relatively snow-sure, and thanks to the lack of waiting times, you really get to make the most of your ski pass here.
