The municipality of Werfenweng is committed to sustainability and serves as a model location for "gentle mobility – car-free tourism." The project "Gentle Mobility (SAMO) – Holidays Without a Car" is supported by a group of accommodation providers in Werfenweng. Upon arrival, guests exchange their car keys—unless they have already arrived by train—for the SAMO Card. This card guarantees them free use of environmentally friendly means of transportation. These include the taxi driver E-Lois, as well as e-scooters, e-funriders, electric cars, and even cars powered by biogas from meadow grass, among many others.
